Finestrat is a municipality in the Valencian Community. Located in the province of Alicante, in the Marina Baja region and has about 6,000 inhabitants. In its term is the mythical mountain of "Puig Campana", whose summit reaches 1,410 m.

THE HISTORICAL CENTER.

Finestrat is one of the most charming towns on the Costa Blanca, where the traditional structure of the houses has been respected, behind the Puig Campana mass and with a fixed view of the sea.

Their houses are literally hanging on the hill where the urban center of Finestrat sits, which provides a characteristic image of the historic center.

THE CHURCH OF SAN BARTOLOME. Its construction must have begun in the mid-17th century. Baroque in style, its façade is smooth and austere, influenced by the early stages of a still incipient neoclassicism.

EL CASTELL (El Castillo). In the highest area of ​​the town is the enclosure called "Castell", a fortification from the Almohad period, which was conquered by Jaime I.

THE HERMITAGE of Santísimo Cristo del Remedio. This hermitage is located in the same enclosure as the Castle.

LA TORRE. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest, it is located in an area close to the town centre. It is a fortified enclosure from the Almohad period, dating from the 12th century.

THE FONT OF THE MOLÍ. It is the most important fountain in the municipality of Finestrat. The Fuente del Molino has 15 spouts, and is the starting point for the ascent to Puig Campana and other excursions.

EL PUIG CAMPANA. At 1,410 m high, its proximity to the coast and its peculiar shapes, Puig Campana is one of the most emblematic spots on the Costa Blanca. In it we will find the ideal place to enjoy nature in its purest state. Both walkers, adventurers and climbers, as well as simply those who like to contemplate this beautiful mountain, have in Puig Campana a benchmark of the Levantine coast. Its ascension is highly recommended.

CASTELLETS. Emblematic rocky ridge, between Finestrat and the Barranco "del Xarquer", where it is possible to go hiking and climbing. Nearby is the "Mas de Sacarest" where you can reach the municipality of Sella, either on foot or by mountain bike.

BEACHES. Although the historic center is inland, the municipality has some 300 meters of coastline, from Punta del Tossal to the mouth of the Barranco de la Cachola, where is the beach, called Cala de Finestrat, which borders the municipalities of Villajoyosa, to the southwest, and Benidorm, to the northeast.

Some of its best-known dishes are: the “arròs amb fesols i naps”, the “Coca girada” (a kind of pie made from poached wheat flour pasta, which contains vegetables, cold cuts, fish and salted meats), the “ Coca boba and Tarongetes (kind of meat balls, with corn flour, which are cooked once seasoned and linked with egg, with stew broth).
